Where
Business Needs and Technology Converge
Along with our AMVision PC
based product, AMV provides integrated vision solutions using Matrox MIL,
IPD, Cognex, DVT, and Vision Components. Many of our solutions are
integrated with motion control, which AMV integrates with Denso, Epson (Seiko),
Intelligent Actuator, and Fanuc robots.
The following are some examples
of systems AMV has created and implemented at our customer sites:
- High Speed Bandolier Inspection
Measurement inspection of high-speed stampings, achieving a measurement
resolution of 0.0002 inches. Rates of 2000 parts per minute.
- Automated Welder
A vision augmented 3-axes system which coordinates the location of a 0.018
diameter post and weld head with a 0.0005 diameter wire. This system
improved the repeatability and precision of the product and allowed for
data mining of the production results.
- Wafer Fiducial Mark Location
Measures fiducial on a five-inch diameter wafer with respect to various
reference points on the wafer with an accuracy of ± 5µ.
- Electronic Component Inspector
At production rates of three parts per second, eight critical measurements
are made at a tolerance of ± 0.0002 inch. Simultaneously, the
presence or absence of key components are also examined.
- Flexographic Press Slot Depth Control
Used with flexographic press process to measure and control leading
trailing slot depths. After determining the position of the cut, the
system analyzes the trend of the position to provide feedback to the
positioning unit of the blade to maintain the cutting process within the
user specified control parameters. Accuracy is within ±1/32 inch at
a speed of four containers per second. This is an example of using vision
for the closed-loop feedback of a PID control system.
- Print Registration Control System
Also used with a flexographic press, measures and controls the print
registration to within ±1/32 inch at a speed of four containers per
second.
- Coplanarity Inspection
At a production line speed of one part per second, the co-planarity is
measured to within 0.0002 inch of the components being assembled. SPC data
is collected and used for feedback into the assembly and forming process.
- Plastic Bottle Inspection At a rate of eight bottles per
second, four critical thread measurements are determined to within
± 0.001 inch. The sealing surface is also inspected at a rate of 15
bottles per second.
- Surface Profilometer The surface roughness is
quantified and reported on a moving web of material. Measurements with a
resolution of 0.010 inch are collected every 50 milliseconds over the span
of the web and the resulting Ra values are graphed in real time.
